Ground conditions in Ras Al Khaimah
RAK spans two very different radar environments. The northern quarry belt and the Hajar foothills are rock and compacted gravel, where returns are strong but hard near-surface layers can mask what sits beneath them. Does the rocky ground in the north stop radar working?
It limits it rather than stopping it. Rock and compacted gravel give strong near-surface returns and can mask deeper targets, and coarse gravel scatters energy. In practice we still locate the service runs that matter, which are rarely at extreme depth, but we report honestly on where the ground has limited what the survey could see.
What happens if we strike an Etihad WE cable?
You are looking at emergency repair costs, liability for the outage affecting other users, a shutdown of your own works while it is resolved, and a serious injury risk to whoever was operating the machine. The cost of the survey is a small fraction of any one of those, which is the entire commercial argument for scanning first.
How large an area can you survey in a day?
It depends on the grid density the site needs and how clear the surface is. A trench corridor or a single plot is usually a few hours. Open yards and larger footprints are scoped by area, and we confirm the rate and the timing once we know the survey extent and the level of detail you need.
