GPR Ground Scanning in Al Ain: common questions
How deep can you actually scan in Al Ain?
Usually the top of the 5–10 m range, which is better than almost anywhere else we work. Dry sand and gravel with a deep water table are close to ideal radar conditions. Localised wet ground around irrigation, or buried slabs and hardstanding, will still reduce it, and we assess the specific site rather than assuming the whole city reads the same.
Can you find plastic irrigation lines?
Yes, and this is the main reason ground radar is used here rather than a cable locator. An electromagnetic locator needs a conductive target, so plastic irrigation and water lines are invisible to it. Radar responds to the contrast between the pipe and the surrounding soil, so it detects plastic as well as metal, along with voids and tanks.
