GPR Concrete Scanning in Ajman
Most concrete scanning in Ajman comes before one of two jobs: coring through the floors of a residential tower for plumbing, drainage or air-conditioning, or drilling a warehouse or workshop floor in Al Jurf or the Industrial Areas for anchors and drains. Either way, a Proceq GP8000 goes over the area around each planned hole first. Bars, tendons and conduits are marked on the slab, along with the positions your crew can safely take. Ajman is a planned visit with a day's notice, and the PDF report follows within 24 hours.
GPR Concrete Scanning in Ajman
MEP coring in residential towers
Ajman's housing is dominated by apartment towers: along the Corniche, through Al Nuaimiya and Al Rashidiya, and in newer clusters such as Emirates City. The coring that comes up in them is mostly MEP work: new drainage and water lines through the floor, condensate and refrigerant routes for replacement air-conditioning, and openings for risers. Some of these slabs are post-tensioned and many are conventionally reinforced, and the tiles give no clue which. We establish the construction with the scan before marking anything, and treat the slab as post-tensioned until the scan shows otherwise.
Warehouse and workshop floors in Al Jurf and the Industrial Areas
Warehouses and workshops in the Al Jurf Industrial Areas, Ajman Industrial Areas 1 and 2 and the Free Zone stand on ground-bearing slabs that are drilled, drained and extended each time a tenant changes. Typical jobs are anchor patterns for racking and machinery, drains for wash bays, and openings for new power and water feeds. Clustered positions in one bay are grid scanned once and every clear position is marked, rather than scanning hole by hole. X-ray cannot image a ground-bearing slab at all, because there is no second face to reach; GPR reads it from the top.
Residents above and below
Tower coring in Ajman usually happens with people living in the flats above and below. GPR emits no ionising radiation and needs no exclusion zone, so nobody has to leave. We work to the building's permit and access hours, and where management wants evidence the slab was scanned before coring, the report is written to go in that file: area scanned, what was found and at what depth, the positions cleared and the date.
Where in Ajman, and how fast
We cover the towers on the Corniche and in Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Rawda and Emirates City, and the industrial floors in Al Jurf, the Industrial Areas and the Free Zone. Ajman is a planned visit from our Deira office, not a same-day callout: give us a day's notice and the full list of positions, and we cover them in one mobilisation.

Concrete you will meet in Ajman
Residential tower floors, some post-tensioned and some conventionally reinforced, with services cast in and penetrations added by successive fit-outs. Ground-bearing warehouse and workshop floors in Al Jurf, the Industrial Areas and the Free Zone, often patched and extended. Machine bases and plinths with dense reinforcement cages. Ajman's coastal ground matters for ground surveys, not for this: the GP8000 looks inside the concrete element, so its range of up to 1.5 m is the same on any site. Dense reinforcement is the real limit, and any position it stopped us confirming is named in the report.
What you get in Ajman
What you receive
- Rebar, tendons and conduits marked on the concrete surface on the day
- Safe drilling or coring positions marked before you start
- PDF report within 24 hours: marked-up layout, depth of each object, safe zones
- 3D scan data on request, for consultants who want to review it
What the Proceq GP8000 cannot tell you
- Very congested reinforcement can hide objects directly beneath it.
- Objects stacked right on top of each other are hard to separate.
- Radar does not pass through steel decking or metal sheet.
- It shows that a conduit is there, not whether it is live.
- Fresh or wet concrete reduces depth and clarity.
Where one of these limits affects your job, the report says so in writing.

GPR Concrete Scanning in Ajman: common questions
Is my Ajman apartment slab post-tensioned?
It may be. Some Ajman towers are post-tensioned and many are conventionally reinforced, but the floor finish gives no clue and the drawings are rarely to hand. The scan shows which, and we mark accordingly. Until it does, we treat the slab as post-tensioned, because a cut tendon cannot be repaired by filling the hole.
Can you scan while residents are at home?
Yes. GPR uses low-power radio pulses and no ionising radiation, so there is no exclusion zone and the flats above and below stay occupied. The scanner rolls over the surface and leaves nothing behind except marker. We work within the building's permitted hours.
We need anchor holes for racking in an Al Jurf warehouse. Do you scan each one?
No. The bay is covered in one grid, every usable anchor position is marked from it, and one report covers the lot, which costs less than a hole-by-hole scan. Where a planned anchor sits on a bar or a conduit, the clash is marked so the racking layout can move before anyone drills.
How quickly can you come to Ajman?
Ajman is a planned visit with a day's notice. Send the address, floor and what you need to core on WhatsApp and we reply within 1 hour during working hours, Sunday to Thursday 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM, with a date and a price. Telling us every position up front lets us cover them in one visit.
Can you also survey the ground before excavation in Ajman?
Yes, with a different instrument. The GP8000 is for concrete. For buried services before digging we use the Proceq GS8000, on industrial plots in Al Jurf and the Free Zone as well as new service connections in districts such as Al Nuaimiya and Al Helio. See our underground utility survey page for Ajman.
